Stay Youthful - the Latest Trends
When it comes to aging, we all want to turn back the hands of time or at least pry them away from our faces. But is there anything that we can really do? Absolutely.
Well, time machine non-withstanding, science is helping us find the secrets of eternal youth, telling us how the body can rejuvenate on its own. What better way than to start with something as natural as the body itself?
You are what you eat
It's no secret that what you eat can dramatically improve your health, but what you choose to put in your mouth can also improve the elasticity and resilience of your skin. Eating food containing both high water content and antioxidants is the key. Antioxidants are important because they assist your body fight pollutants and other toxins that play havoc with your skin cells and collagen. In addition, antioxidants contain vitamins A, E, C and B. If your diet is lacking in vitamins, take a multivitamin supplement to help protect your skin.
Omega Power
Along with antioxidants, you will want to take a combination of omega fatty acids to keep your skin supple. A good oil with omega acids will help your hair and your skin while also providing your heart with protection from disease. One of the best sources of omega acids is Flax oil. If you want to double the benefits, sprinkle some flax seeds on your food as well.
Out of the sun
The harmful, ultraviolet rays of the sun are your skin's worst enemy. Before stepping outside, apply sunscreen to any exposed part of your body. Follow this regimen religiously and your skin will thank you, especially later in life.
Water, water and more water
You also want to be drinking when you're thirsty, and water is certainly best. Not only does it allow your body to flush away toxins, but it also keep the skin hydrated and supple.
Dry skin is more prone to wrinkling, or at least showing those wrinkles that are already there.
Beauty-shelf
And if you still aren't seeing results, then look to the new face products that include collagen and retinol. Both of these ingredients have been shown to decrease the appearance of fine lines and some lighter wrinkles. Copper and vitamin A creams are also demonstrating that they can work as well. You may not be able to outrun aging, but you can certainly make it harder to happen.
